I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who provides therapy to individuals and couples in California and Virginia.  My services are provided via telehealth therapy.  I conduct therapy through a mindfulness approach, utilizing strength-based, cognitive behavioral therapy.

Born and raised in San Diego, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my master's degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University.  During my undergraduate studies, I worked as an undergraduate academic peer advisor, a peer health educator, a behavioral therapist for The Center for Autism, and as a research assistant in the Child Development and Language Laboratory.  While obtaining my master's degree at SDSU, I worked in a variety of settings including private practice, working as a school-based therapist at an elementary school, and facilitating domestic violence and sexual assault groups.

After completing my master's degree, I spent almost a year traveling throughout Southeast Asia.  Upon returning to the US, I have worked in various settings including my work with at risk youth and their families, working as a clinical counselor with the Navy, working as a Clinician at Hazelden Betty Ford and Sharp Healthcare, and as a Program Therapist at Inova Hospital.

With over ten years in the field, and through my education, professional experience and traveling abroad, I have adopted a unique therapeutic approach that focuses on my client's strengths and incorporates a mindful approach that empowers my clients to overcome life's obstacles and challenges in order to live a more fulfilling, enriched life.
